The Dervishen Ships

In keeping with centuries of tradition, these ships all share the same basic shape -- the cross, holy symbol of the Dervishes. Many are covered by spike-like structures, some used for antenna arrays, others to discharge ion buildups around the engines. This powerful discharge, like all Dervishen weapons, is considered a defensive system. While the largest ships carry planetary assault mass drivers, their function has been stated as 'preventative defensive measures.'

The following classes of ships are not the only Dervishen craft currently in use, however their secretive nature has prevented Terran intelligence from obtaining a complete listing.

Freighters These freighters are characterised by their massive ion dischargers, easy access shuttle docking system, and viewing terrace. While only Dervishen shuttles may dock, the rows of six docking bays make unloading of goods quicker than other modern cargo ships. Few Terrans have stood on the viewing terrace of these ships, but those who have came back impressed. Two decks of triangular windows allow hundreds to 'share in the ultimate beauty of our Lord's creation.'
